Cool Tool : Google Toolbar 4. Free Advertising 5. Final Quote ==========================================================- 1. Jonathan : Cool Tools section, updated main page Another great issue has arrived! :-) I wrote an article about spelling. Spelling, or you might say, misspelling is a big problem for many people. Read this article for some tips on how you can avoid misspelling and looking dumb. I fixed up the Awesome Solutions For Webmasters archives, which you can see at http://www.prowebsitemanagement.com/archives.html. I added a Cool Tools section, where
you'll find Cool Tools that have been featured in Awesome Solutions
For Webmasters. The Cool Tools descriptions are more thorough on the
website. Check them out and don't forget to suggest others to us. I updated the main page of PRO Website Management and gave it a slightly different look. Not much of a difference other than the layout. Oh yes, and I edited the logo a bit. I wonder if you'll be able to tell. ;-) Be sure to check out this issue's Cool Tool. It really is a helpful tool for doing searches and also checking a site's pagerank. Suggestions, questions, comments and more are welcome! Jonathan Harbaugh ==========================================================- 2. Spelling, a tripped over part of a website. Whenever you go to purchase something, you usually expect the salesperson to know what they are talking about. And know how to pronounce the item that they have for sale (the client may not know how, but the salesperson should). The same goes for websites. When I come across a website, with an obvious spelling mistake, I question the validity of the website and the person behind it. Do they know what they are talking about? How can I trust them to provide me with good service if they can't even spell? Of course, there are typos. They happen to me all the time, although I can usually catch them before putting a page online. But, you can't use typos as an excuse when you misspell something! ;-) Here are a few tips to make sure you don't misspell(too much). -Use a spell-checker. Word processing programs and most HTML Editors come with built-in spell-checkers. At http://www.prowebsitemanagement.com/wordweb.html, you'll find information on a really good FREE dictionary/thesaurus. -Use a dictionary. I try to keep one beside my computer at all times. -Read what you wrote, carefully. Read it again. Read it an hour later. Read it before uploading it. Read it after you've put it online. And then come back in a few days, and read it again. -Have somebody else read it. I always have my dad read over my issue of Awesome Solutions For Webmasters before I send it out. Good luck with yoar spelling! ==========================================================- 3. Cool Tool : Google Toolbar This is a must-have for every webmaster. In fact, I'd be surprised if you aren't using it, or if you haven't even seen it. I understand, some people might use a browser other than Internet Explorer. But if you have Internet Explorer and don't have the Google Toolbar, then check it out! Google is said by many people to be the number 1 search engine. I receive the majority of my hits from people searching for my site through Google. It's a very accurate search engine. Google also has a system where they rank a page. There are many theories as to how the Google ranking works. Google ranks sites from 0 to 10. PRO Website Management is right in the middle at 5. Download the Google Toolbar, and you can see your website's pagerank. Some of the top websites on the internet have a 9 or a 10. But that is a very hard rank to achieve. You can also see a website's pagerank by going to the Google Directory, and searching for their website. If the website is anywhere in the Directory, then the pagerank will show up beside the website. ..GOT A COOL TOOL? Send me the description and url(if
any) to: ==========================================================- 4. Free Advertising That's right, I'm offering free advertising on my website! All subscribers have an equal chance of winning. can make money in bed." "If you can count your money,
you don't have a billion dollars." See ya in the next issue!
