Here is how to use the
Spinwave free crunching service.
(You do want to reduce the size of your images, right?)
All you need to do is upload
your image file(either a .gif or a .jpeg/.jpg). First, click on Browse,
then select your image, then just click Crunch from Disk.
You'll then go to the next
page. You may have to wait a little bit for the next page to load,
while the server processes, optimizes and crunches your graphics.
Spinwave will offer you
5 choices. The first choice will be your original graphic. The remaining
choices are the crunched original graphic at different sizes.
All you do is choose which
image looks best, preferrably the smallest, if possible. Then right-click
on the image and save it to your hard drive.
It's definitely a useful tool. Graphic
optimization should be something that all webmasters do.
